FREE Animal Alphabet Posters: Display Banner, Reference, Flash Cards Activity

$0.00

Clipart, cartoons, and other beautiful illustrations are great for kids, but research backs the fact that young children learn more about the real world indirectly through real photographs. That is one of the reasons I made these cards and poster for my own children. Not to mention kids are naturally drawn to nature…and animals are just too cool!

These cards not only aid in letter and sound introduction/identification/recognition/etc., but also support oral language development as you introduce and discuss each letter’s featured animal. Better yet, go beyond labels and learn more about the less-familiar creatures, think of additional animals for each beginning sound, older children can begin discussing long and short vowel sounds….go wherever their curiosity may lead!

INCLUDES:

– standard corner option

– rounded corner option

– full page option

Note: there are FOUR different options for the “Uu” page to suit your needs. The long vowel sound “unicorn” is the primary choice but there are three additional options following the complete alphabet; a short vowel sound not in keeping with the animal theme (“umbrella”), a short vowel sound in keeping with the animal theme but not featured as a beginning sound (“walrus”), and an r-controlled vowel if you just prefer to stick with the animal theme and just want the beginning letter to match (“urchin”).

PREP: Print (on cardstock for durability) and you’re done!

TIP: You can print the cards as-is or reduce the size to better fit your space/desired-use. I have my own set printed at 85%.
