These Crystal Counting Puzzles are a beautiful and calming way for preschool, kindergarten and first grade/grade one kids to practice 1:1 one to one counting and number recognition from 1 through 20. Use as a whole group activity or independent extra practice at math centers tubs bins.
How to use the Crystal Counting Puzzles:
PREP: Print, laminate for durability (optional), and cut out.
The Crystal Counting Puzzles feature numbers 1 through 20 but you can certainly adjust the quantity based on your little learner’s age/ability; use all puzzles, or just a custom selection!
Extend the activity by having your little one arrange the numbers in order from greatest to least or vice versa, or even practice skip counting!
TIP: if your little learner struggles with 1:1 counting, provide beads/counters/or another small manipulative for them to place over each crystal as they count it. By covering what has already been counted, the child can more easily avoid double counting or leaving out any crystals!
